DiagramLite 2.1 Released

Friday June 3, 2011

MindFusion.Diagramming for Silverlight has just been released. The control adds new options for some of its automatic layouts, a completely new layout algorithm and some new appearance properties. More details follow:

CompositeLayout algorithm

This release gives you a powerful tool to arrange quickly large diagrams. The CompositeLayout divides the graph into subgraphs and applies the chosen layout algorithm at each part saving time and resources. The SubgraphLayout property sets the algorithm applies to the parts, while MasterLayout sets the algorithm used for partitioning of the graph.

Layout improvements

The OrthogonalLayout produces more compact layouts with less link bends if MinimizeLinkBends is enabled.

The SpringLayout handles better large nodes and nodes with non-uniform size. The SpringLayout energy model has been changed to one that leads to better symetry in arranged graphs. The old model is recommended when using round links. It is accessible by setting LayoutMethod to Classic.

Miscellaneous new features.

The Ruler control displays mouse position indicator in the ruler scales.

The Silverlight 4 build of the control now shows diagonal resize cursors at node corner handles.
