Customizing the Visual Studio Toolbox

Add the MindFusion.Charting for WinForms Control to the Visual Studio Toolbox

 Note

Delete any control's icons from previous versions by right-clicking on the icon and choosing Delete from the context menu.

  1. To add a tab in the Visual Studio Toolbox, right-click within the toolbox, and choose Add tab from context menu. An empty field appears where you can type 'MindFusion.Charting'.

  1. Right-click on the new toolbox tab where you want to add the MindFusion.Charting for WinForms control.
    In Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008, select Choose Items. The 'Choose Toolbox Items' dialog box appears.
  2. Click on the .NET Framework Components tab.
  3. Select the Browse button.
  4. Go to the MindFusion.Charting for WinForms Installation folder, for instance VS2005 (.NET 2.0).

 Note

If you select MindFusion.Charting.dll and click the Open button, the following message appears:
"There are no components in 'Folder…\MindFusion.Charting.dll' that can be placed on the toolbox." MindFusion.Charting.dll is the drawing engine of the control and does not contain any components that can be placed at the Visual Studio Toolbox.

  1. Select MindFusion.Charting.WinForms.dll, and click Open. Click OK.
  2. The MindFusion.Charting for WinForms icons appear in the new tab.
